The Daily Bread Foodbank

Through its research and advocacy, the Daily Bread Food Bank has become a thought leader locally, provincially, and nationally on issues about hunger, living on a low income, housing, and income security. As a distribution hub, the Daily Bread Food Bank provides food and support to almost 200 food programs and is the largest provider of food relief in the greater Toronto area. The U of T Students’ Union, Hart House, and the Daily Bread Food Bank collaborated to promote a fundraiser event with a focus on issues surrounding hunger in our communities. All funds raised at the event went to support the Daily Bread Food Bank.

I wish to acknowledge that my work takes place on the traditional territory, Tkaronto, “Where the Trees Meet the Water,” “The Gathering Place” of the Anishinaabe, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Haudenosaunee Peoples from the Six Nations Confederacy of the Grand River, and the Wendat, as well as many other Nations who have cared for this land since time immemorial. I pay my respects to all of our relatives who have gathered and will continue to gather in this place.
